KARACHI: Karachi police have arrested another suspected drug trafficker in a follow-up crackdown on narcotics networks, following the high-profile detention of alleged drug producer Anmol alias Pinky, officials said.
According to Metro Morning, the latest suspect, identified as Nargis alias “Malka”, was arrested during an intelligence-led operation in Swati Mohalla near Khudadad Graveyard in Karachi’s Malir district. Police said the raid was conducted on Wednesday after a tip-off from confidential sources.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Abdul Khaliq Pirzada confirmed that the suspect was allegedly involved in large-scale narcotics supply operations across Karachi and parts of interior Sindh, targeting both residential and high-income areas.
Officials said the operation led to the recovery of 35 kilograms and 265 grams of hashish, estimated to be worth more than Rs60 million in the illegal market, along with over Rs100,000 in cash. Authorities added that the seized drugs were intended for distribution across multiple parts of the city.
Investigators believe the suspect was part of an organised trafficking network, with several accomplices still at large. Police said efforts were under way to identify and dismantle the wider group through continued raids and intelligence gathering.
The arrest comes amid an intensified crackdown on narcotics in Karachi following the earlier detention of Anmol alias Pinky, who police allege was involved in high-grade drug production and distribution across major cities, including Lahore and Islamabad.
Authorities have said that investigations into the broader network are ongoing, as law enforcement agencies attempt to map supply chains and disrupt what they describe as increasingly sophisticated drug operations in the region.
