KARACHI: Pakistani energy sector leader Tara Uzra Dawood has completed the Austrian Leadership Programme and has been recognised by Austria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an emerging international leader in the field of energy, according to a statement issued on her achievement.

Dawood, who is the founder of LADIESFUND Energy Pvt. Ltd., was selected to represent Pakistan among a group of global participants in the programme, which brings together professionals from different countries who have demonstrated leadership potential and a focus on innovation, sustainability and international cooperation in their respective fields.
In an official message, Georg Lack, head of department at Austria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, congratulated her on completing the programme and acknowledged her selection as an emerging leader in the energy sector. He said she had been recognised for her achievements and expressed good wishes for her future professional journey.
Annika Klopf of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs also highlighted her participation, saying it reflected a strong commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions. She noted that Dawood’s involvement placed her among a group of emerging global leaders contributing to discussions on energy transition and development.
Mag. Anna Petrina, project manager at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna’s executive training programmes, said Dawood had shown consistent engagement during the course of the programme. She described her participation as reflecting the spirit of international cooperation and innovation that the initiative aimed to promote.
The programme is designed to strengthen leadership skills among professionals working in sectors linked to global development challenges, including energy, sustainability and economic cooperation. Participants engage in discussions, training sessions and networking activities aimed at encouraging cross-border collaboration.
Dawood said her participation in the programme had been an honour and described it as an opportunity to engage with professionals from different countries working on shared global challenges. She said international cooperation was essential in addressing energy-related issues and expressed her intention to build on the connections and insights gained during the programme.
Her recognition was also described as reflecting Pakistan’s growing participation in international discussions on energy, sustainability and economic development. Through her work at LADIESFUND Energy Pvt. Ltd., she has focused on promoting innovation, investment and inclusive growth within the energy sector, alongside efforts to expand opportunities for women entrepreneurs and leaders.
The statement added that her involvement in the Austrian programme strengthened links between Pakistan and Austria and highlighted the role of cross-border engagement in addressing global energy challenges.
Officials associated with the programme said her selection and participation underscored the importance of collaborative approaches to sustainable development and energy transition at an international level.
