KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah visited the Karachi Red Line project for the third time in a week to review progress and address public concerns. He directed authorities to improve traffic flow and repair roads along the corridor.
During the visit, Murad Ali Shah ordered the repair and restoration of traffic lanes alongside the Red Line corridor. He said public inconvenience must be reduced and instructed that roads should be widened where necessary by removing or adjusting barriers. He stressed that roads should not be limited to patchwork but built to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Meanwhile, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon told media in Karachi that work on the Red Line project would not be halted due to any court order, even if it leads to contempt proceedings. He said construction would continue and efforts are being made to open mixed traffic lanes by the end of July.
Sharjeel Memon added that the government has not shown any negligence in the project and said work carried out by the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) has been efficient and fast. He noted that any re-tendering for the Red Line project would be conducted according to proper procedures.
