SAINT PETERSBURG: In 2026, the SPIEF cultural festival St Petersburg Seasons is set to bring together dozens of events, ranging from concerts and theatre premieres to exhibitions, guided tours and city festivals. The program will run from 30 May to 6 June, covering major cultural venues across St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
The festival will open on 30 May with the Leningrad Retro Rally at the Brusnitsyn cultural quarter. Visitors will be offered an exhibition of classic cars, a fashion show featuring St Petersburg designers, a musical program, and the ceremonial departure of vintage car crews set against the backdrop of the Gulf of Finland.
Deputy Governor of St Petersburg Boris Piotrovsky said the festival allows SPIEF participants and guests to experience the city as a modern cultural hub, where historical traditions are preserved alongside new creative initiatives. He noted that this year’s program is particularly extensive, spanning the city’s major theatres, museums and public spaces.
From the opening days, SPIEF participants will have access to a broad museum and exhibition program. Key highlights include The Russian Imperative at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall, which explores Russia’s military history and national identity, alongside exhibitions such as Ballet. Earthly Gods and In the Workshop of the Theatre Artist at the Theatre Museum and Sheremetev Palace.
The festival will also feature dozens of theatre productions across leading St Petersburg venues, including the Arkady Raikin Variety Theatre, the Musical Comedy Theatre, the Akimov Academic Comedy Theatre, and contemporary choreography projects by the Kannon Dance Centre. Performances will range from drama and musicals to ballet and modern dance premieres.
