The operation was carried out by assistant commissioner Khairpur, Umamah Solangi, along with assistant mukhtiarkar Shiraz Hussain Phulpoto. During the raid, used syringes, IV drips and other infectious medical materials were recovered. Officials said the waste was allegedly being illegally recycled into low-quality plastic products, describing the practice as extremely dangerous for human health, the environment and public safety. By Imtiaz Hussain KHAIRPUR: Free medicines meant for child nutrition were found being sold at a private medical store in Hingorja, prompting action by health authorities. The district health officer, Dr Kaleemullah Shaikh, carried out a raid on the store and recovered a large quantity of RUTF, or ready-to-use therapeutic food, used to treat malnutrition in children. Expired injections were also seized from the premises. The medical store was sealed following the raid. The DHO said a letter had been sent to the deputy commissioner to inform him of the matter.
