The test drew a large number of candidates, reflecting continued demand for merit-based educational opportunities in the province. A total of 1,252 students appeared at the Khairpur center. The violence erupted amid a long-standing feud between the Jagirani and Lolai clans in the Katcho Bandi area, which has repeatedly turned deadly.
